Parades provide overwhelming opportunities to capture the cultures of our varied origins. I adore these little girls, so intent on presenting their heritage and being a part of a group which so obviously gives them a sense of identity and belonging and pride. I love the action of their footsteps, their determination, their various interpretations of the same concepts. Each portrays an intention common to the group, yet individually expressed.
A "real" camera, my first, I purchased more than 50 years ago. I didn't intend to become a commercial photographer, but simply to capture what extraordinary compositions I deemed captivating through my magic lenses.
