This elegant hunter, a great white egret, demonstrates the observation that for each handicap, there might be a corresponding benefit. This bird, you see, had a damaged leg. In order to hunt, his motions included a hopping, half-flight effort that required that he open his wings like an angel. The result is elegance and an angelic apperance.

Susan Stephenson

A "real" camera, my first, I purchased more than 50 years ago. I didn't intend to become a commercial photographer, but simply to capture what extraordinary compositions I deemed captivating through my magic lenses. My images began to captivate my friends, grew in numbers, and finally admonished me to share my good fortune. I still consider my love of photography to be that of a humble traveler although I have sold and gathered a few kind, "official" kudos along the way. Since that first Minolta, I have lived and traveled the hills of my native California, the fjords and inlets of Southeast Alaska's Inside Passage, and the prairies of Kansas, my current home.
